If you slap someone in the face, aren't you responsible for their emotional reaction? Yes, you are. The problem with the approach suggested in this video is that some people see the world through an amplified lens. Especially in the case of BPD. Hence any minor thing will feel like a slap in the face, which makes them convicted that you are guilty for their emotional reaction.

Im dealing with this now and know 2 others that are too. I have been called out of my name twice. I addressed it and now she has tagged another higher up to try to take me down every time I disagree with her. And where's my boss, quiet, because he doesn't like this type of stuff. Where is the president, quiet. Its ok, I have a track record of success and I have receipts on the incidents that have happened. All truths will be exposed 1 way or another because there are atleast 2 other people with similar stories.

I have taught Crucial Influence for over ten years and when I found out that Joseph and team had created Utah-based TOSA based on the success of Delancey Street in San Francisco, I was ecstatic! We moved from KC last year to Utah, and unbeknownst to me, my wife had secured the TOSA moving service to unload our trucks. When they got to the house and started talking to me about their business, I finally put two and two together and realized who they were! The team was incredibly respectful to us and our property--and they hustled! Some of them were literally running with boxes in and out of the house. They were amazing! I can also attest to the power of the model that Joseph shares here. I have used it professionally and personally and I know that it works!

Using “facts” Doesn’t seem Helpful to me, as everyone interprets facts via opinion. Meaning every time someone speaks a fact, they are still also stating their opinion, or their perceptions, on that fact to begin with. There really is no human way to be absolutely, 100 percent sure of anything as fact because we’re such incredibly biased creatures. Yes, this is my opinion 🤣

I am realizing I am a serious deminsher. I fall into each of these categories and recently had an employee bring up to me that my management style isn't working. My eyes are opening up to how I've been behaving. She's right, these leaders mean well and have the best of intentions but these behaviours end up hurting.

Okay where do I sign up for this class! I need to know how to handle my sons explosive anger and tirades. He lives in blame and I dont want to punish him for being (essentially mentally ill) angry, but I feel I'm allowing it to continue by not setting appropriate boundaries. But I dont know what they look like so I just remain calm and compassionate. Sure he gets pissed that I DONT take responsibility for his reaction, (If I would just be perfect, he wouldnt need to get mad ) but is that all I do? I dont believe in telling him WHAT to do, but I do feel I need to finally tell him he needs to figure it out, because it's becoming a regular occurance to the point it's scaring my younger kids and husband (and me honestly). It's getting worse.
